Welcome back to Episode 2 of “Top 10: Movies“. If you missed the first episode you can pick up Episode One here. This list contains the next 10 movies that are on my list of favorite movies. Honestly, it was harder to prioritize these than it was the first list. Lots of action and comedy on this list. It has become incredibly apparent I have “my type” of movie I gravitate towards.
Okay, let’s get to the list. These are ranked starting with 10 and moving to my number one favorite for the second time. Without further ado, in order, my Top 10 Movies – Episode 2.
10. The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)
The Bridge on the River Kwai is an epic movie. My dad introduced this movie to me when I was a boy and it wasn’t until I was much older that I truly understood and appreciated it. It is a trial of human nature at it’s best. Not to mention you’ve heard the catchy whistling before.
9. Airplane! (1980)
Airplane! is by far one of the most recognizable and quotable movies out there. I laugh my way from start to finish every time I watch it. There are so many things going on it’s easy to miss stuff. Which is why you have to watch it over and over.
8. Mulan (1998)
Mulan ranks high on my laugh scale too. The movie is quotable and funny from start to finish. It’s cleverly done and is endless entertainment for the whole family. We used to watch this one often growing up.
7. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was my first foray into the world of Indiana Jones. This is still my favorite of all of them. Raiders of the Lost Ark is an extremely close second, however, it is edged out because of another favorite, Sean Connery.
6. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day is amazing. Even though its predecessor is ground-breaking, this one is trumped by the killer special effects and re-watchability and quotability. “I’ll be back.” You know you’ve said it.
5. Aliens (1986)
Aliens is the first movie that truly terrified me to my core. I was way too young when I watched it the first time, but it was instantly solidified as one of my favorites. Not to mention the special effects are AMAZING. James Cameron at his best.
4. The Bourne Movies (2002 – 2016)
The Bourne Movies are awesome. With exception to Bourne Legacy, I must watch these when they come on tv or if I see them in my streaming list. I see something new every time. The soundtracks are great. The acting is phenomenal. Love Jason Bourne.
3. Young Frankenstein (1974)
Young Frankenstein is, well, one of the funniest movies ever. If you’ve seen it, then you know that’s true. Extremely quotable and cleverly done. Mel Brooks spares no expense on putting as much fun into this movie as possible.
2. John Wick (2014 – present)
John Wick movies rock my socks. They remind me of the old school action movies I already love. Lots of raw, hardcore, and highly choreographed fight scenes. These movies are extremely violent, but they do help build the character and backstory incredibly well. Love the whole trilogy. Hopefully, they make more.
1. Predator (1987)
Predator is my second number one movie of all time. This is Schwarzenegger at his absolute best. Not only did this spawn a whole new slue of movies, but this is epic ’90s action at its absolute core. I have watched it so many times I can quote it from start to finish. This movie has been spun off and spoofed in many other movies and shows and has definitely stood the test of time
