Music Monday: Crowder – “Come As You Are”

This week’s Music Monday is actually a radio played song at the moment. The song is “Come As You Are” by Crowder. Everytime I listen to this song something swells inside my soul and I cannot help but get misty-eyed. If I’m being perfectly honest, I usually shed a couple of tears as I listen. For those of you who have read Bent, Broken, Uprooted then you know why this song touches me. The song is so well delivered. It is so raw and real. From the moment the song starts, my heart starts beating like a drum in anticipation of the grace filled lyrics. They speak God’s honest truth.

Bonus!

Below are images that Crowder has posted on his Facebook page that pertain to the song. They were just to darn cool not to post.

“Come As You Are” Lyrics

Come out of sadness
From wherever you’ve been
Come broken hearted
Let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are

There’s hope for the hopeless
And all those who’ve strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There’s rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t cure

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
Come as you are
Fall in his arms
Come as you are
There’s joy for the morning
Oh sinner be still
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
Come as you are
Come as you are
